Murder at the Ministry of Magic
Wizarding London recieved a vicious shock when, early this morning, the bodies of two Ministry workers were found in the lower levels of the Department of Mysteries.
Nadia Carrol, 24, and Terry Phillips, 67, both scientists and scholars in their respective departments, were found with their limbs bent in unnatural angles and they eyes wide and blank in a fairly unused corridor. While the exact cause of their death is still a mystery, examiners of the bodies confirm that their end was definitely of the more painful sort.
"It certainly is a shock," reflects Karen O'Neil, 45, of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catatrophes, "there hasn't been a death of such terrible proportions in years."
While the murderer(s) remain unknown, an anonymous official commented to the Prophet today that "it's the work of that megalomanic tyrant, Lord Voldemort. It reeks of his work. I'm surprised no one else has figured it out yet."
Bellatrix Lestrange, rumoured to have the confidence of Lord Voldemort, told reporters earlier this evening that "[I'm] frankly quite disgusted with the wizarding world for throwing accusations towards my lord and their benefactor. Such suspicions are the child of an idle and idiosyncratic mind."
Miss Lestrange was unfortunately unable to speak with the Prophet more, due to the fact the flat's other occupant had accidentally set the couch on fire.
Investigations are still in progress, and the Prophet is being continually informed of further developments. The Ministry asks that anyone who knows any information concerning these deaths to immediately send an owl. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
"We want to get to the bottom of this," states Darius Williamson, celebrated auror and prodigy, "it's the least we can do."
